A special place in Mendelssohn’s musical output is held by his religious works, such as the cantata Kommt, lasset uns anbeten [Come, Let Us Worship]. We hear two parts of it, a duet [00:00] and the concluding chorus [03:21].
Psalm 95, apart from FM, has been a source of inspiration for composers such as Heinrich Schütz and Thomas Tallis. It is incorporated as an invocation at the beginning of Jewish, Catholic and various Protestant services.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the music !
