from Oannes *

Δεν ξεχνάμε το αφιέρωμα στον Quincy Jones.
Απλώς, μετά την εκλογική παράκρουση, χρειάζεται κάποιο ξελαμπικάρισμα. Και τι καλύτερο γι’ αυτό, από λίγη αναγεννησιακή μουσική – πρώιμο μπαρόκ.
Ακούμε ένα μικρής σχετικά διάρκειας, αλλά μεγαλειώδες έργο του Giovanni Gabrieli, απ’ τους δασκάλους της αναγεννησιακής πολυφωνίας και απ’ τους σημαντικότερους εκπρόσωπους της Βενετσιάνκης σχολής των μέσων του 16ου – αρχών 17ου αι. Σύγχρονου και “αντίπαλου δέους” του Claudio Monteverdi, με εστιασμό (αντίθετα απ’ την κυρίως κοσμική μουσική εκείνου) σε οργανικές και θρησκευτικές συνθέσεις.

We don’t forget the Quincy Jones tribute.
It’s just that after the election madness, one feels the need for some lucidity. And what better for this, than some Renaissance – early baroque music.
We hear a relatively short but magnificent work by Giovanni Gabrieli, among the masters of Renaissance polyphony, also among the most important representatives of the Venetian school of the mid-16th – early 17th centuries. Claudio Monteverdi’s contemporary and “rival”, focusing (in contrast to CL’s mainly secular music) on sacred & instrumental compositions.
