Ήχοι από μια εποχή που η παγκοσμιοποίηση πλησίαζε ύπουλα, σαν λύκος με καλλιτεχνική προβιά, και με εργαλεία (ίσως ερήμην τους) ταλαντούχους μουσικούς όπως ο Αγγλοϊνδός συνθέτης & tabla player Talvin Singh. Το πρώτο του άλμπουμ, OK, κυκλοφορία των late ‘90s, μια μίξη world στοιχείων και ηλεκτρονικών ήχων και μπιτ, ήταν από εκείνα που τίμησα ιδιαίτερα στις εκπομπές μου στον Εν Λευκώ. Ο σταθμός ιδρύθηκε & λειτούργησε μέχρι τα mid -00s από τον Κ. Καββαθά (R.I.P.), σε διαφορετική βεβαίως κατεύθυνση από εκείνη που ακολούθησε έπειτα.

Sounds from an era when globalization crept in slyly, like wolf in artistic sheep’s clothing, and talented musicians like Anglo-Indian composer & tabla player Talvin Singh as its (perhaps unwitting) tools. His debut album, OK, released in the late ‘90s, a blend of world music elements with electronic sounds and beats, was one I heavily featured on my radio shows at En Lefko. The station, founded and run by K. Kavvathas (R.I.P.) until the mid-2000s, took a different direction later from the one it initially followed.
