Μόλις διαπίστωσα ότι το ‘Goon Squad’ από το Armed Forces του Costello, post που είχα ανεβάσει το 2019, έχει καταστεί ανενεργό (“Video unavailable”). Το ξανανεβάζω λοιπόν σε mp3 format.
Πρόκειται για τραγούδι από κάθε άποψη τέλειο – η σύνθεση, η ερμηνεία, ο καλπασμός της μπάντας, το μπάσο του Bruce Thomas… Η λέξη “επικό”, ευτελισμένη απ’ την κατάχρηση, βρίσκει εδώ κάτι απ’ το χαμένο της νόημα.

I just noticed that the post ‘Goon Squad’ from Costello’s Armed Forces that I shared in 2019 is now inactive (“Video unavailable”). So, I’m re-uploading it in mp3 format.
This song is perfect in every way—composition, performance, the band’s galloping energy, Bruce Thomas’s bass… The word “epic,” cheapened by overuse, regains some of its lost meaning here.
