Ο εκρηκτικός δυναμισμός και το μελωδικό, straight-forward παίξιμο του Eric Alexander τον κάνουν ένα από τους πιο συναρπαστικούς για μένα τενόρους σαξοφωνίστες της γενιάς του (ξεκίνησε στα early ’90s, πρόσφατα έκανε στροφή στο άλτο). Eric Alexander’s explosive dynamism and melodic, straightforward playing make him one of the most exciting tenor saxophonists of his generation for me (he started in the early ’90s, recently switched to alto). A wonderful example is this personal composition from his 1999 album Alexander The Great.
The stellar band: James Rotondi – trumpet, Charles Earland – Hammond B3 organ, Peter Bernstein – guitar, Joe Farnsworth – drums.
