Από το πρώτο άλμπουμ των Γερμανών μέταλ πρωτοπόρων Lucifer’s Friend. Είναι το ‘Ride The Sky’ και, αν “θυμίζει κάτι”, ας μη βιαστούμε να βγάλουμε συμπεράσματα. Ας μην επηρεαστούμε καν από την ‘λίστα’ κλοπών για τις οποίες έχουν κατηγορηθεί οι Zeppelin.
Το δισκογραφικό ντεμπούτο των Lucifer’s Friend κυκλοφόρησε τον Νοέμβριο του 1970, ένα μήνα αργότερα από το Led Zeppelin III, στο οποίο βρίσκεται το ‘Immigrant Song’.
Αυτό ασφαλώς δεν αποδεικνύει τίποτα, όπως και το ότι οι Zeppelin έπαιζαν, όπως είναι γνωστό, το τραγούδι ζωντανά από το καλοκαίρι της ίδιας χρονιάς. Κάποιος θα μπορούσε να έχει “τσεκάρει” / ηχογραφήσει τους Γερμανούς να παίζουν οι ίδιοι, ζωντανά, τη δική τους βερσιόν, ακόμα νωρίτερα.
Όταν τα γεγονότα δεν βοηθούν, καλό είναι να μπαίνει σε λειτουργία η κοινή λογική, η οποία στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση θέτει μια απλή ερώτηση:
Τι φαίνεται πιο πιθανό, ένα παγκοσμίως άγνωστο συγκρότημα να ξεκινά την καριέρα του κλέβοντας ένα …τρισδιάσημο; Ή το αντίθετο;

From the first album of German metal pioneers Lucifer’s Friend.The title is ‘Ride The Sky’ and, if it is “reminiscent of something”, let’s not jump to conclusions. Let’s even forget the ‘list’ of thefts for which Zeppelin have been accused.
Lucifer’s Friend‘s record debut was released in November 1970, a month later by Led Zeppelin III, in which ‘Immigrant Song’ is located.
That of course doesn’t prove anything, nor does the fact that Zeppelin played, as is well known, the song live from the summer of the same year. Somebody could have “checked” / recorded the Germans playing themselves, live, their own version, even earlier.
When events don’t help, there’s always common sense, which in this case raises a simple question:
What seems more likely, a totally unknown band starting its career by stealing the most famous of their peers? or the other way around?
