Το απαιτητικό ρομαντικό ύφος και η ασυνήθιστα πυκνή, συμφωνική γραφή, κάνουν αυτό το soundtrack το αγαπημένο μου του Νίνο Ρότα – αντάξιο του αριστουργήματος για το οποίο γράφτηκε ως μουσική επένδυση. Ο Γατόπαρδος του Βισκόντι (Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon, Claudia Cardinale) έκανε πρεμιέρα στο Φεστιβάλ Καννών του 1963, κερδίζοντας τον Χρυσό Φοίνικα.

The demanding romantic style and the unusually dense, symphonic writing make this soundtrack my favorite by Nino Rota – worthy of the masterpiece it was composed for. Visconti’s The Leopard (Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon, Claudia Cardinale) premiered at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Palme d’Or.
