A coincidence that you should reblog John McLaughlin. to whom I was listening two days ago for a good hour. We seem to have like tastes in music, especially jazz, but likely in other music mediums as well. Always a pleasure to discover, that which gives one a sense of appreciation for the the high advanced level of electronic communication. This part being the exchange of music appreciation, that kind of makes up for the down sides of the out of control speed with which today’s advances are polluting our world with horrendous waste with all their built in obsolescence. You pay small fortunes for a given item, and three months later it is obsolete. One can but hope some genius doesn’t find a way to render the great music with which we have need to live, as we do for unpolluted air and water.
Have a happy weekend!

Ah, how right you are, my friend, …how right you are! I just hope the damage done, isn’t irreversible. Music, nowadays, is mostly there for commercial purposes, worst than ‘elevator music’, half a minute musical ‘slogans’ to keep us consuming. Can you imagine people like Genesis releasing “The Lamb…” today? At least jazz is in a better place. New talents emerge still, which is comforting. I’m so very happy we share like tastes in music [and not only]! Wishing you a beautiful Sunday! 🙂
