Από το τρίτο άλμπουμ των MK-O [Marina Kanavaki, Oannes] που κυκλοφόρησε το 2011.
Το Blues For The White N****r είναι ένα concept άλμπουμ.

From our third MK-O album, released in 2011.
Blues For The White N****r is a concept album. It deals with the exploitation of black music for the purpose of marginalizing the white audience, and the role that the [social] media play in that…

More about these reblogs

Lately I have been rebloging music videos from Oannes new blog. For my friends who didn’t know, or wonder why…. Oannes [aka Socratis Papahatzis] is my husband, partner in life and music and the one with my undying admiration. Together we have a band MK-O [the music of Marina Kanavaki & Oannes]. So, it’s my pleasure to share with you his [and mine] musical selections. Although here I reblog mainly his musical selections, he writes exceptional articles on various topics [some may need translation], so do visit his site. He has my highest recommendation!

  1. The “N” word…. I was surprised when I began to discover your music, and saw this as an album title. I thought you were brave, and challenging a status quo.
    Now, the music is fab!

    • Ah, the ‘N’ word… censoring language I think is a sign of decadence. Words carry meanings and history. I wonder whether some people wish to obliterate the cruel history of slavery, as if it never happened… I heard that even John Lennon’s song has been altered in some versions… the politically correct versions! Thank you, my sweet friend! ❤🥰😊😍❤

      • I agree about censoring. “Political Correctness” Is partly why trump won. He is the least politically correct.
Slavery: America still has a huge problem.
Think that the slaves were freed in 1865, but it was in 1965 they got the vote, and they still have many issues in the US.
Unfortunately, slavery has made a big comeback. It’s illegal, but happens more than we know.
Sending lots of love to you & Hera!

  2. In some ways I guess you are right. Btw I checked that John Lennon tune and where i looked it was partially “corrected” and partially not. Very interesting.🤔😉

  3. Apologies for dominating your comments but if you could just be a little less interesting… Then maybe I’d take a break! Okay… So the N word is so controversial now that even scholars can get in deep trouble for trying to discuss it in class. Meanwhile, I turn on the radio and there it is. Hmmm. 🙄🤔

    • Ah, I am very very flattered!!!!!!!! …no need to apologize of course, on the contrary, now if you don’t I’ll start worrying! 😂🤣
On the N …and other words, I fear we have entered dark medieval times, which btw weren’t as dark as history has painted them….
