Η σουίτα “The Narrow Way” από το Ummagumma [1969] είναι ηχογραφημένη αποκλειστικά από τον ίδιο με απανωτά overdubs. Το “Fat Old Sun” από το Atom Heart Mother

On this date, March 6, 1946, David Gilmour was born. Initially a substitute for Syd Barrett when the man began to lose touch with reality, he then became the permanent guitarist of Pink Floyd, giving his touch of “metaphysical blues” to their sound and enriching the band’s songbook with a series of iconic compositions. We hear two of his tracks with PF and one from his first solo album, David Gilmour [1978] Ummagumma‘s “The Narrow Way” suite [1969] is recorded exclusively by him with overdubs. “Fat Old Sun” from Atom Heart Mother [1970] is probably the most lyrical song he has written.

More about these reblogs

Lately I have been rebloging music videos from Oannes new blog. For my friends who didn’t know, or wonder why…. Oannes [aka Socratis Papahatzis] is my husband, partner in life and music and the one with my undying admiration. Together we have a band MK-O [the music of Marina Kanavaki & Oannes]. So, it’s my pleasure to share with you his [and mine] musical selections. Although here I reblog mainly his musical selections, he writes exceptional articles on various topics [some may need translation], so do visit his site. He has my highest recommendation!
