Ο Φράνκο Μπατιάτο είναι μια από τις μείζονες φυσιογνωμίες της ιταλικής μουσικής των τελευταίων 50 + χρόνων, κάνοντας ταυτόχρονα καριέρα και ως ζωγράφος με το ψευδώνυμο Suphan Barzani. Οι δραστηριότητές του, ευρέως φάσματος, περιλαμβάνουν από ποπ τραγούδια μέχρι όπερες όπως αυτή εδώ : ένα μίγμα μεταφυσικής και ε.φ. με την έμπνευση να αντλείται από λατινικά, σανσκριτικά, ελληνικά και τουρκικά ιερά κείμενα.

Franco Battiato is one of the major figures in Italian music of the last 50+ years, while also making a career as a painter under the pseudonym Suphan Barzani.
His wide-ranging activities range from pop songs to operas like this one : a mixture of metaphysics and science fiction, with inspiration taken from Latin, Sanskrit, Greek and Turkish sacred texts.
