Αν με το έργο του Vers La Flamme [βλ. προηγούμενο post], ο Ρώσος συνθέτης αναδεικνύεται σε προφήτη της “κλιματικής αλλαγής”, με το συμφωνικό ποίημα “Προμηθέας, Το Ποίημα Της Φωτιάς” δίνει ένα από τα πρώτα multi-media events, περιλαμβάνοντας στην παρτιτούρα το περίφημο “color keyboard”, το οποίο θα πρόβαλλε εναλλαγές χρωμάτων σε συνδυασμό με τη μουσική της ορχήστρας, του πιάνου και της χορωδίας.
Μπορεί στην εποχή του stadium rock να μην ακούγεται ιδιαίτερα εντυπωσιακό, στην εποχή του όμως αποτελούσε σοκ : μιλάμε για το 1910.
Στο πιάνο ο Anatol Ugorski. Τη Συμφωνική Ορχηστρα του Σικάγου διευθύνει ο Pierre Boulez.

If with the work of Vers La Flamme [see previous post], the Russian composer emerges as a prophet of “climate change”, with the symphonic poem “Prometheus, The Poem of Fire” offers one of the first multi-media events, putting among the instruments a “color keyboard” which would project color variations in combination with the music of the orchestra, piano and choir.
It may not sound particularly impressive in the era of stadium rock, but in its time it was a real shock : we are talking about 1910.
Anatol Ugorski is on the piano. Pierre Boulez conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchesrta.
