I’ve been a big Danny Elfman fan since I saw him with Oingo Boingo in the 1982 film Urgh A Music War – long before he began his dazzling career as a film composer.

Learning about his release of an album of classical works I was sure it would be something special.
The result exceeded my expectations.
We hear the absolutely amazing first part, Grave. Animato, from his violin concerto “Eleven Eleven”.
Sandy Cameron is the soloist.
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra is conducted by John Mauceri.
