Among the various interpretations of Mozart’s Requiem I always favored the one with Karl Böhm conducting the Vienna Philharmonic. Among other reasons, for the uniquely imposing air he gives Confutatis, picking a tempo much slower than any other maestro I’ve heard. So here are two excerpts from the monumental work Wolfgang Amadeus wrote, and left unfinished, in his dying bed. Karl Riddersbusch – bass. Wieslaw Ochman – tenor. Julia Hamari – contralto. Edith Mathis – soprano.

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the music!
