Ο πιανίστας – συνθέτης Tigran Hamasyan γεννήθηκε στην Αρμενία πριν από 35 χρόνια. Στην ηλικία των τριών άρχισε να αυτοσχεδιάζει στο οικογενειακό πιάνο, για να ξεκινήσει λίγο αργότερα κλασικές σπουδές, αναπτύσσοντας παράλληλα δεσμούς με την jazz, τη μουσική παράδοση της χώρας του και το heavy metal. Ήταν γραφτό η “πολιτισμική ώσμωση” να γίνει το σήμα κατατεθέν του. Πολιτογραφημένος Αμερικανός από 16 ετών, ζει και εργάζεται στην Καλιφόρνια. Ως πιανίστας, ο Tigran είναι από τους πιο εντυπωσιακούς που έχω ακούσει τα τελευταία χρόνια. Ακούμε ένα κομμάτι του για σόλο πιάνο από το άλμπουμ A Fable του 2011.

Pianist – composer Tigran Hamasyan was born in Armenia 35 years ago. At the age of three, he began improvising on the family piano. He got into classical studies a little later, while developing a love for jazz, the musical tradition of his country, and heavy metal. “Cultural osmosis” was meant to become his hallmark. An American citizen since the age of 16, he lives and works in California. As a pianist, Tigran is one of the most impressive t I’ve heard in the last years.
