from Oannes *

Δεσπόζουσα περίπτωση ανάμεσα στους συνθέτες που έχουν γεννηθεί το Μάρτιο [και …όχι μόνο] είναι φυσικά ο J.S. Bach.
Ένα ενδιαφέρον στοιχείο : μεγαλοφυίες του επιπέδου του δεν ανθίζουν σαν λουλούδια στην έρημο. Γύρω από κάθε “γίγαντα” της τέχνης υπάρχει κατά κανόνα εύφορο έδαφος, [καλλιεργημένο από την εκάστοτε εξουσία], και σημαντικός αριθμός επίσης “ελασσόνων” μεγαλοφυών/ιδιοφυών.
Ανάμεσα στις περιπτώσεις του είδους που περιστοίχιζαν τον Μπαχ συμπεριλαμβάνονται κάποιοι απ’ τους ίδιους τους γιους του. Ένας από αυτούς ο Carl Philipp Emmanuel [CPE Bach, 1714-1788] είναι ο πρώτος του αφιερώματός μας στους συνθέτες αυτού του μήνα. Το έργο του, συνδετικός κρίκος ανάμεσα στο μπαρόκ και το κλασικό ιδεώδες ενσαρκωμένο από τους Χάυδν, Μότσαρτ [λάτρεις και οι δύο της μουσικής του, όπως, αργότερα οι Μπετόβεν, Μπραμς etc] θα ήταν ίσως ευρύτερα γνωστό αν είχε γεννηθεί από άλλο πατέρα. Ο οποίος παρεμπιπτόντως, εν ζωή, ήταν πολύ λιγότερο γνωστός από τους απογόνους του.
Ακούμε το πρώτο μέρος. Allegro Di Molto της συμφωνίας του CPE σε Ρε Wq 183 No.1 – με στιλ γραφής προαναγγελτικό της “μουσικής του μέλλοντος”.

J. S. Bach is of course the dominant case among composers born in March [and …not only].
An interesting element : geniuses of his level don’t bloom like flowers in the desert. By definition, each “giant” of the arts is surrounded by fertile soil [cultivated by authority], and a significant amount of “lesser” geniuses.
Among the cases of the kind arround Bach were some of his own sons. One of them, Carl Philipp Emmanuel [CPE Bach, 1714-1788] is the first of this month’s composers tribute. His work, a link between baroque and the classical spirit embodied by Haydn, Mozart [both lovers of his music, like Beethoven, Brahms etc later] would perhaps have been more widely known if he had been born of another father. Less known, by the way, than his descendants, in his lifetime.
We hear the first part, Allegro Di Molto of CPE’ s Sinfonia In D, Wq 183 No.1 written in a style foreshadowing “the music of the future”.
