Χτες βράδυ έμαθα ότι πέθανε [30/3] σε ηλικία 74 χρόνων μετά από μακροχρόνια ασθένεια ο Ray Shulman, μπασίστας, βιολιστής, τρομπετίστας, κιθαρίστας, ιδρυτικό μέλος των Gentle Giant και βασικός [μαζί με τον οργανίστα Kerry Minnear] συνθέτης τους.
Οι Gentle Giant ήταν πάντα ένα από τα αγαπημένα μου γκρουπ της progressive περιόδου.
Με τη διάλυσή τους [1980] ο Ray θα αξιοποιούσε τη γνώση του της μουσικής και της [μουσικής] τεχνολογίας, διακρινόμενος ως παραγωγός ενός ευρέως φάσματος καλλιτεχνών : AR Kane, The Sugarcubes, The Sundays, The Trash Can Sinatras etc.
Ακούμε στη μνήμη του δυο κομμάτια από ισάριθμα άλμπουμ των Gentle Giant.

I found out last night that Ray Shulman, bassist, violinist, trumpeter, guitarist, founding member and basic composer of Gentle Giant [along with keyboardist Kerry Minnear] passed away [30/3] aged 74, after a long illness.
Gentle Giant was always one of my favorite bands from the progressive era.
After their dismissal [1980] Ray would utilize his musical knowledge, as well as that of [music] technology, distinguishing himself as a producer of a wide range of artists : AR Kane, The Sugarcubes, The Sundays, The Trash Can Sinatras etc.
We hear two tracks from two of Gentle Giant’s albums.
