Για τη γιορτή της μητέρας, ακούμε την αγγλική βερσιόν του “Když mne stará matka zpívat’ [“Songs My Mother Taught Me”] μία από τις “Τσιγγάνικες Μελωδίες” [Gypsy Songs, op. 55] του Τσέχου συνθέτη Antonin Dvořák [photo]
Ερμηνεύει η σοπράνο Renée Fleming.

For Mother’s Day, we hear the English version of “Když mne stará matka zpívat” [“Songs My Mother Taught Me”], one of the “Gypsy Melodies” [Gypsy Songs, op. 55] by Czech composer Antonin Dvořák [photo]
It is performed by soprano Renée Fleming.

❝ Songs my mother taught me,
In the days long vanished;
Seldom from her eyelids
Were the teardrops banished.
Now I teach my children,
Each melodious measure.
Oft the tears are flowing,
Oft they flow from my memory’s treasure ❞

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the song!
