Το Ocean’s Kingdom [2011] είναι ένα ακόμα pseudo-classical project του Paul McCartney – το πέμπτο κατά σειράν. Πρόκειται για μπαλέτο, παραγγελία του New York City Ballet – μια ιστορία αγάπης με φόντο την απειλή που ένας υποβρύχιος πολιτισμός αντιμετωπίζει από …εμάς τους ανθρώπους.
Ο Paul αναφέρει ως επιρροή του το μπαλέτο Giselle του Adolphe Adam [1841].
Το Ocean’s Kingdom δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα άξιο λόγου όπως και καμία από τις άλλες “κλασικές” εντρυφήσεις του, κατακρεουργήθηκε άλλωστε από τη σοβαρή κριτική.
Το πρώτο, ομώνυμο μέρος του είναι, αν μη τι άλλο, ευχάριστο.

Ocean’s Kingdom [2011] is another pseudo-classical project by Paul McCartney – his fifth in a row. This is a ballet, commissioned by the New York City Ballet – a love story set against the backdrop of a threat an underwater civilization faces from … us humans.
Paul mentions Adolphe Adam’s ballet Giselle [1841] as his influence.
Like the rest of his “classical” adventures, Ocean’s Kingdom is not particularly noteworthy, and it was butchered by serious critics.
Its first part by the same name, is, if nothing else, pleasant.
