Ένα από τα λιγότερο γνωστά έργα του Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) είναι αυτό εδώ των αρχών του αιώνα, κύκλος τραγουδιών βασισμένων σε ελληνικές “λαϊκές μελωδίες”. Πρόκειται για τις παρακάτω, με τη σειρά που ακούγονται :
‘Ξύπνησε ασπροπέρδικα’, ‘Κάτω στον Αη-Σίδερο’, ‘Ποιος ασίκης σαν κι εμένα’, ‘Άγγελος είσαι μάτια μου’, ‘Γιαρούμπι’.
Ακούμε τις Cinq Mélodies populaires grecques σε ερμηνεία της σοπράνο Märta Schéle – συνοδεύει ο Ingmar Bergfelt.
