The Spanish composer, priest, singer and organist Thomas Luis De Victoria (1548-1611) was one of the most important musical figures of the 26th century, and one of the great masters of Renaissance polyphony, with most of his surviving work being religious, choral music.
We hear the first part, Introitus, from Missa Pro Defunctis, his funeral mass for four-part choir, composed in 1583.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the music !
