Philippe Herreweghe, Collegium Vocale Gent, Orchestre Des Camps-Elysées.

It’s almost a rule, in the sense that it applies to most composers: religious sentiment has elicit some of their most important works. Anton Bruckner (1824-1896), for example, great symphonist of the second half of the 19th century, referred to Te Deum (for choir and solo singers, orchestra and church organ) as “the pride of his life”. An idea of this we get by hearing its first part – Te Deum. Philippe Herreweghe, Collegium Vocale Gent, Orchestre Des Camps-Elysées.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the music !
