Εκ των μεγίστων του 20ου αι. και κατά μείζονα λόγο του October born musicians club ο Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975), “αμφιλεγόμενος” στον καιρό του, ανάλογα με την εκάστοτε διάθεση του Σοβιετικού καθεστώτος, και τις δικές του – μοντερνίστικες, ή πιο παραδοσιακές – στιλιστικές επιλογές.
Ακούμε το έξοχο τρίτο μέρος, Allegro, του κουαρτέτου του για έγχορδα Νο 8. Το αποδίδουν οι Kronos Quartet.

One of the greatest of the 20th century and, a fortiori, of the October born musicians club, is Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975), “controversial” in his time, depending on the mood of the Soviet regime, and his own – modernist, or more traditional – stylistic choices.
We hear the splendid third part, Allegro, of his string quartet No. 8. It is performed by Kronos Quartet.
