As with so many people, my first time seeing Koyaanisqatsi was a life changing experience*. And in times of [imminent] disaster, I always recall this one.

*“life changing” for me too…
More about these reblogs

Lately I have been rebloging music videos from Oannes new blog. For my friends who didn’t know, or wonder why…. Oannes [aka Socratis Papahatzis] is my husband, partner in life and music and the one with my undying admiration. Together we have a band MK-O [the music of Marina Kanavaki & Oannes]. So, it’s my pleasure to share with you his [and mine] musical selections. Although here I reblog mainly his musical selections, he writes exceptional articles on various topics [some may need translation], so do visit his site. He has my highest recommendation!

  1. Koyaanisqatsi was my introduction to Philip Glass. My exposure came through the film the visuals and music were perfectly in sync. A visual orchestration of the music. Of course the music stands well on it’s own and I often find time to listen to the soundtrack. In fact I’m a huge fan of the Qatsi Trilogy. Have a great weekend.

    • SO well said, my friend: “a visual orchestration of the music”. Huge fan of the trilogy here too, but that ending scene from Koyaanisqatsi especially, gets me every time…
You too enjoy a beautiful weekend.
