Ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους συνθέτες όλων των αιώνων, ο Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina γεννήθηκε σαν σήμερα, 3 Φεβρουαρίου, το 1525. Θεωρείται ο κορυφαίος εκπρόσωπος της αναγεννησιακής πολυφωνίας.
Ακούμε το μοτέτο του [μορφή πολυφωνικής σύνθεσης] για 6 φωνές Tu Es Petrus. Τη Χορωδία του King’s College του Cambridge διευθύνει ο Stephen Cleobury.

One of the greatest composers of all times, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina was born on this date, February 3, 1525. He is considered the leading representative of Renaissance polyphony.
We hear the motet [polyphonic form of composition] for 6 voices, ‘Tu Es Petrus’. The King’s College Cambridge Choir is directed by Stephen Cleobury.
