On this date, 8 April 1948, the virtuoso guitarist and composer Steve Howe was born in Holloway, London. His name is mainly associated with Yes, but his half-century + career includes other interesting stations, such as the band Tomorrow from the middle ’60s, Asia, GTR [with Steve Hackett] and a number solo albums.
We hear one of his peak moments with Yes. “Starship Trooper” is composed by Anderson, Squire, Howe, with the guitarist’s contribution being the epic third part… It’s the live version from 1973’s Yessongs [triple vinyl in the original edition].

More about these reblogs

Lately I have been rebloging music videos from Oannes new blog. For my friends who didn’t know, or wonder why…. Oannes [aka Socratis Papahatzis] is my husband, partner in life and music and the one with my undying admiration. Together we have a band MK-O [the music of Marina Kanavaki & Oannes]. So, it’s my pleasure to share with you his [and mine] musical selections. Although here I reblog mainly his musical selections, he writes exceptional articles on various topics [some may need translation], so do visit his site. He has my highest recommendation!
