Τα περισσότερα τραγούδια του, όπως και του M. Waters, είναι συνθέσεις του Willie Dixon.Κάποια ωστόσο πολύ σημαντικά [σ’ αυτό το podcast: “Killing Floor”, “The Big House”, “Tired Of Crying”…]

On this date, June 10, 1910, in White Station, Mississippi, Chester Arthur Burnett, better known as Howlin’ Wolf, was born. Singer, guitarist, harmonica player and composer, one of the greatest bluesmen of all time. After particularly adventurous teenage and young years, having having already established a name of the blues scene, HW would move up to Chicago in the early ’50s, dominating the city, with Muddy Waters as his only rival.
Both of them would be extremely benefited from the blues revival of the ’50s and 60s, and the adaption of the black culture by the white audience.
Most of Wolf’s songs, like the ones of M. Waters’, are written by Willie Dixon. Some, however, very important [in this podcast: “Killing Floor”, “The Big House”, “Tired Of Crying”…] are songs of his own.
