I have never seen this type of bird before. What is it’s name? A beautiful capture, Marina. I love how you caught the different positioning of his head. And the sunrise added a dramatic flare.
It’s a magpie. In Greece we call them ‘carakaxa’ which means a crone… I suppose from their racketing ‘song’! I love them! During sunrise all the birds pose to capture the first rays. Beautiful time! Thank you, my dear Rebecca. 🤗😘🤗
You photo reminded my of my dear friends, the Crows, who gather at sunset to make their way home to their roost in Burnaby. They have a loud chatter that I find quite smoothly.
so that is where the magpies have gone. They are smart. The breeze here is not that gentle (we currently have -11°C, and tomorrow expect -20°C) 🙂, with lots of snow. Well, I like it, normal winter weather, like I remember it from my childhood.
Brrr, that sounds cold! We’re expecting our winter within the day… at last! After 24C we’re up for 0s!!! We get lots of magpies over here. Happy Friday, my friend.
Oh, me too and these beauties are hard to capture! I’ve tried capturing them up close but at the slightest move they’ll fly off. This guy was at a safe (to him) distance and on the perfect spot (for me!). Thank you, my friend!
This is probably last week’s post. I’m way behind…OR I am ahead! Tomorrow is Thursday!
Love the birdie!!!
Love you!

They do have have a similar chatter and I love crows gathering at sunset. I used to watch them at our house by the sea. Smoothly is the perfect word!

Ah, thank you, Mary Jo. During this time (first rays of the sun), many feathered beings stop to catch the colors! 😘🤗
