Κατά ένα περίεργο τρόπο, ο Igor Stravinsky επιλέγει για πρώτη φορά να χρησιμοποιήσει την δωδεκάφθογγη μέθοδο σύνθεσης του Arnold Schoenberg [οι δύο τους είχαν ιδιαίτερα ψυχρές σχέσεις] αμέσως μετά το θάνατο του Γερμανού συνθέτη, το 1951. Ξεκινώντας μάλιστα με τους Θρήνους του Ιερεμία, των οποίων ένα μέρος [De Elegia Prima] ακούμε εδώ.
Τα μέλη της Columbia Symphony Orchestra και τη χορωδία Schola Cantorum διευθύνει ο ίδιος ο Stravinsky.

In a strange way, Igor Stravinsky choses for the first time to use Arnold Schoenberg’s 12-tone composition method [the two of them had particularly cold relationships] immediately after the German composer’s death in 1951. Starting with the Laments of Jeremiah, of which a part [De Elegia Prima] we hear here.
Members of the Columbia Symphony Orchestra and the Schola Cantorum Choir are conducted by Stravinsky himself.
