Ακούμε τρία αποσπάματα [Prelude – A Hymne To Nature, Bridal Procession, Battle Of Kerzhenetz] από την ορχηστρική σουίτα βασισμένη στην όπερά του “Ο Θρύλος της Αόρατης Πόλης του Kitezh”.

On this date, March 18, 1844, Nikolai Rimsky – Korsakov, one of the prominent Russian composers of the 19th century was born in Tikhvin. He was a member of the Group of 5 [Korsakov, Kui, Mussorgsky, Balakirev, Borodin], composers interested in developing a “Russian” composition school. NRK is considered one of the greatest arrangers of all time. We hear three excerpts [Prelude – A Hymne To Nature, Bridal Procession, Battle Of Kerzhenetz] from the orchestral suite based on his opera “The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh”. Personally, in various snapshots, I hear Philip Glass announcing himself in full form here… The Prague Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Vaclav Smetacek.

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the song !
