Σαν σήμερα, 10 Μαρτίου 1892, γεννήθηκε στη Χάβρη της Γαλλίας ο σημαντικός Ελβετός συνθέτης Arthur Honegger. Υπήρξε μέλος των Les Six, αν και πιο παραδοσιακός απο αυτούς στις προτιμήσεις του [Les six: ομάδα Γάλλων συνθετών που οι στιλιστικές τους προτιμήσεις τους έφερναν αντιμέτωπους τόσο με τον γερμανικό ρομαντιμό όσο και με τον Γαλλικό ιμπρεσιονισμό. Ήταν οι Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius MIlhaud, Francis Poulenc, Germaine Tailleferre]. Ο Honegger έγραψε συμφωνίες μουσική δωματίου, ορατόρια και όπερες. Διασημότερο έργο του είναι αυτό που ακούμε: το συμφωνικό Pacific 231 που ο AH περιγράφει σαν μουσική απεικόνιση μιας ατμομηχανής.

On this date, March 10, 1892, the important Swiss composer Arthur Honegger was born in Le Havre, France. He was a member of Les Six, although more traditionally oriented than them [Les six: a group of French composers whose stylistic preferences held them against both German romanticism and French impressionism. Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius MIlhaud, Francis Poulenc, Germaine Tailleferre]. Honegger wrote symphonic works, chamber music, oratorios and operas. His most famous work is the symphonic Pacific 231. AH describes it as a musical depiction of a locomotive.
