“Τιμώ τον Vincent d’ Indy, για την γαλήνια τόλμη με την οποία προχωράει πέρα από τον εαυτό του”. Έτσι μιλά ο Claude Debussy για τον συμπατριώτη και ομότεχνό του, ο οποίος γεννήθηκε σαν σήμερα, 27 Μαρτίου 1851 στο Παρίσι. Ο Vincent d’ Indy είναι ένας από τους συνθέτες που δημιουργούν στο μεθυστικό μεταίχμιο ρομαντισμού και ιμπρεσιονισμού, ανάμεσα στις στέρεες δομές του πρώτου και την ποτισμένη με εξωτικά αρώματα ελευθεριότητα του δεύτερου. Ακούμε: Lentement – Tres vif από το Deuxième Quatuor , op. 45, Divertissement από το Sextuor op. 92 και Entrée, en sonate – Modere από το Trio en forme de suite, op. 98.

Vincent d’ Indy is one of the composers whose work marks the intoxicating verge between romanticism and impressionism. Between the solid structures of the former and the exotic aroma-soaked freedom of the latter.
