Στη συνέχεια, “Double Crossing Time”, σύνθεση δική του και του John Mayall για το άλμπουμ με τους Bluesbreakers [1966]. “Spoonful” του Willie Dixon από το Fresh Cream [1966]. Το “Presence Of The Lord” είναι η συνθετική του συμβολή στο άλμπουμ των Blind Faith [1969]. Τέλος, τον ακούμε στο “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out”, κλασικό ’20s blues του Jimmy Cox, από το άλμπουμ των Derek & The Dominos. O Duane Allman συμμετέχει στη slide κιθάρα.

On this date, March 30, 1945, Eric Clapton was born, one of the few musicians who certainly don’t need a presentation. First song, “For Your Love”, recorded with the Yardbirds in 1965, shortly before he left the band [more specifically, he left them because of this particular song – too pop for his taste]. “Double Crossing Time” is composed by him and John Mayall for his album with the Bluesbreakers [1966]. Willie Dixon’s “Spoonful” is on Fresh Cream [1966]. “Presence Of The Lord” is his songwriting contribution on the Blind Faith album [1969]. Finally we hear “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out”, Jimmy Cox’s classic ’20s blues, from the Derek & the Dominos album [1970]. Duane Allman is on slide guitar.

More about these reblogs

Lately I have been rebloging music videos from Oannes new blog. For my friends who didn’t know, or wonder why…. Oannes [aka Socratis Papahatzis] is my husband, partner in life and music and the one with my undying admiration. Together we have a band MK-O [the music of Marina Kanavaki & Oannes]. So, it’s my pleasure to share with you his [and mine] musical selections. Although here I reblog mainly his musical selections, he writes exceptional articles on various topics [some may need translation], so do visit his site. He has my highest recommendation!
