Μπορεί να μην ήμουν ποτέ diehard fan του Vangelis, έχει υπάρξει ωστόσο σεβαστό μέρος της ζωής μου ως ακροατή.
Υποπτεύομαι δε, βάσιμα, ότι υπήρξε πιο σημαντικός για μένα απ’ ότι για διάφορους όψιμους λάτρεις του.
Εν πάση περιπτώσει, εν μέσω νεκρικής σιγής που διαδέχθηκε με εντυπωσιακή ταχύτητα τις εκδηλώσεις αμετροέπειας, συνεχίζω το μικρό μου αφιέρωμα.
Το άλμπουμ Direct, με τον Παπαθανασίου στο απόγειο της δόξας του, είναι ηχογραφημένο με cutting edge midi συστήματα “εποχής” σχεδιασμένα από ειδικούς του χώρου αποκλειστικά για τον ίδιο. Διαλέγω απ’ αυτό δυο κομμάτια.

I may never have been a diehard Vangelis’ fan but there has been a significant part of my life as a listener. I suspect he has been more important to me than to various late lovers and admirers.
In any case, in the midst of the deathly silence that followed expressions of intrepidity with impressive speed, I continue my little tribute.
The album Direct, with Papathanasiou at the height of its glory, is recorded with cutting edge midi systems of the era, designed exclusively for him by experts in the field. I pick two pieces from it.
