Μια ακόμα σπουδαία πρόταση απ’ τον stcigar: οι Geistervariationen ήταν το τελευταίο έργο του Robert Schumann. Το ολοκλήρωσε λίγο πριν τον εγκλεισμό του στο ψυχιατρικό άσυλο όπου θα πέθαινε μετά από 2 χρόνια. Ο καλλιτέχνης – αρχέτυπο του mad genius και του ρομαντικού πνεύματος, έπασχε από διπολική διαταραχή για μεγάλο μέρος της ζωής του.
Είχε προσπαθήσει να αυτοκτονήσει πέφτοντας στον Ρήνο κατά τη διάρκεια της σύνθεσης αυτού του έργου – το ακούμε από τον Igor Levit.

One more excellent proposal from stcigar : Geistervarationen was Robert Schumann’s last work. He completed it a few days before his confinement in the psychiatric asylum where he would die 2 years later. The artist – archetype of romantic spirit, and that of mad genius, had struggled against bipolar disorder for a large part of his life.
He attempted suicide throwing himself in the Rhine during the composition of this work – we hear it performed by Igor Levit.
