Ο Πολωνός πιανίστας και συνθέτης Ignaz Friedman, γεννημένος τον Φεβρουάριο του 1882, ήταν ένας ακόμα μυθικός βιρτουόζος στην παράδοση του Chopin. Η εποχή της ακμής του – αρχές με μέσα 20ου αι.- συμπίπτει με εκείνην του Godowsky.
Οι συνθέσεις του δεν κατόρθωσαν να εισχωρήσουν στο ρεπερτόριο των ρεσιτάλ – μάλλον όχι δίκαια, όπως ακούμε από αυτές τις δυο [από το Drei Klavierstucke, op. 33] σε εξαιρετική απόδοση από τον Andrey Gugnin.

Polish pianist and composer Ignaz Friedman, born February 1882, was another mythical virtuoso in the Chopin tradition. The era of its heyday – early to mid-20th century – coincides with that of Godowsky.
His compositions did not manage to penetrate the recital repertoire – rather unfairly, as we hear from these two [from Drei Klavierstucke, op. 33], in excellent performance by Andrey Gugnin.
