Vangelis εν έτει 1971, αυτοσχεδιάζων στα Marquee studios με συνεργάτες του John McLaughlin [Brian Odgers – b, Tony Oxley – d]. Το ηχογραφημένο υλικό θα κυκλοφορούσε 7 χρόνια αργότερα χωρίς την άδειά του υπό μορφή δυο άλμπουμ : Dragon & Hypothesis. Ο μουσικός μήνυσε την εταιρία που τα κυκλοφόρησε πετυχαίνοντας την απόσυρσή τους από την αγορά, αναφερόμενος μάλιστα απαξιωτικά στη μουσική που ακούγεται εδώ.
Προσωπικά δεν καταλαβαίνω από τι ήθελε να προστατέψει τον εαυτό του. Το bootleg αποτελεί ένα τουλάχιστον ενδιαφέρον ντοκουμέντο του τι μπορούσε να κάνει έξω από υποχρεώσεις και συμβάσεις.


Vangelis in 1971, improvising at Marquee studios with collaborators of John McLaughlin [Brian Odgers – b, Tony Oxley – d]. The recorded material would be released 7 years later without his permission in the form of two albums: Dragon & Hypothesis. The musician sued the company, succeeding in withdrawing them from the market, even referring dismissively to the music heard here.
I personally don’t understand what he wanted to protect himself from. This bootleg is at least an interesting document of what he could do outside of obligations and conventions.
